RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – A 44-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle while in the crosswalk in Rancho Mirage on Tuesday morning.
At around 7:52 a.m.,deputies from the Palm Desert Station responded for the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian and a vehicle at Bob Hope Drive and Rancho Las Palmas in Rancho Mirage. The driver of the vehicle, a 74-year-old woman remained at the scene throughout the investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was making a left turn from eastbound Rancho Las Palmas onto northbound Bob Hope Drive when she hit the female victim.
The pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to the hospital. Alcohol or drugs are not a factor and the cause remains under investigation at this time.
