YORBA LINDA, Calif. – The music director at Yorba Linda Middle School was arrested on Thursday on the after being accused of molesting a former student.
According the the Orange County Sheriff’s. Daniel Methe, 44, of Yorba Linda, was arrested at 9:45 a.m. at his home. When the school learned of the arrest they placed Methe on paid administrative leave. The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District officials said that Methe has worked for the district for approximately 20 years.
Through investigation it was determined that Methe had inappropriate contact with the student in 2011, when she was 13-years-old and continued until she was 15-years-old. Sheriff’s officials are concerned that there may be other victims since Methe had access to students since 1999.
Methe was booked for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14.
