YUCCA VALLEY – A Yucca Valley Payless Store was robbed at gunpoint on Monday evening authorities said. On Monday evening at around 6:35 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the store located at 57990 Twentynine Palms Highway for the report of a robbery. When they arrived they learned that the White male suspect demanded cash from both the register ad safe.
The cashier gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect left the store with the cash and a pair of basketball shoes. An extensive search was conducted both on ground and by helicopter, but the suspect was not found. The suspect is described as; 40-50-years-old, 170 pounds and was last seen wearing a tan camping hat, Hawaiian style yellow and orange button up shirt (Tommy Bahama style), khaki style pants, and wearing a black backpack.
