SUFFOLK, Va. – An investigation into weapons accusations led authorities to the discovery of videos containing a man and his wife engaged in sexual acts with a dog authorities said.
The federal investigation began into Richard Patterson, 48, allegedly buying and selling firearms. Richard Patterson is a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, in July of 2017, federal agents went to the home in the 2400 block of Freeman Mill in Suffolk, Virginia to conduct a search. During the search the located seventeen firearms and over one hundred rounds of ammunition. To the surprise of the agents, while inspecting electronic devices in the home, they found a video that was recorded of the couple’s sexual activity with the Doberman Pinscher dog according to a news release.
Richard and Christina Patterson, who were once owners of a dog kennel, were both indicted; 42-year-old Christina Patterson in October 2018 and Richard Patterson earlier this week. Christina Patterson is scheduled to go to trial for her case on March 1, 2019, for six counts each of bestiality and animal cruelty. Richard Patterson was indicted on the same six charges each of bestiality and animal cruelty.
