Louisiana Shot After Refusing to Argue with Estranged Girlfriend

Shreveport, LA. – Authorities are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot her estranged boyfriend after he refused to engage in an argument with her. 

A Louisiana man is in critical condition after having emergency surgery for a gunshot wound to his body from a shooting on July 18, 2020, at around 7:30 a.m. When officers arrived at the home located in the 1400 block of Grigsby Street in Shreveport they located a male subject lying on the sidewalk suffering from a single gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel rushed him to Ochsner LSU Hospital and into surgery. Authorities said that the man is currently in critical condition.

Through investigation it was determined that he was shot by Jenalisha Lawrence, his 29-year-old estranged girlfriend. Witnesses said the she shot the male victim after an interaction where he refused to argue with her. After the shooting, witnesses said that she left the scene in a green Honda Accord with primer on the left passenger’s side front door. There is a warrant for the arrest of Lawrence for attempted second-degree murder with bond set at $150,000. Lawrence has addresses in the 3100 block of Lindholm Street and the 2800 block of Drexel. Authorities believe she may have fled to Dallas, Texas, where she is from.
