Phoenix Girl Killed in Suspected Road Rage Incident

PHOENIX, AZ. – A 10-year-old girl was killed and her father was injured after a vehicle to vehicle shooting police said.

On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at around 5:45 p.m., a family was driving northbound near North 37th Avenue and West Portland Street when they noticed that a white Ford F150 4-door pickup truck following them very closely.

The father who was driving, turned onto West Moreland Street, where the family lives and according to police, the truck followed. They turned into the driveway of their home, located in the 3800 block, the truck stopped behind the vehicle and fired multiple gunshots at the occupied vehicle. The father and one of their daughter’s who was sitting in the backseat were struck by the gunfire. The mother, who was in the front passenger seat and the other daughter, who as in the back seat were not injured.

The suspect fled westbound on Moreland Street and then northbound on North 39th Avenue. He was described as 30 to 40-years-old, driving a white Ford F150 4-door pickup truck with dark-colored trim on the bottom.

The dad and 10-year-old girl were transported to the hospital. The girl died as a result of her injuries and the male is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
