ARCADIA, Calif. – Those who resisted the sexaul assaults made by a former Arcadia mall maintenance supervisor would be punished with cut work hours, officials said.
On Tuesday, April 3, 2019, Diego Broones Cervantes, 37, of San Gabriel, was found guilty of sexually assaulting three women who worked for him. The jury deliberated for four days, finding Cervantes guilty of one count each of forcible rape, attempted rape, sexual penetration by foreign object and sexual battery by restraint as well as two counts each of forcible oral copulation and false imprisonment by violence.
All of the assaults happened during work hours at the mall between September 1, 2015, and February 2, 2017. Cervantes will be sentenced on May 24, 2019, and is facing life in prison.
