Arkansas Woman Sentenced to Probation for Planting Child Porn on Husband’s Phone

SILOAM SPRINGS, AR. – A Siloam Springs, Arkansas woman pleaded guilty and was sentenced for planting child pornography on her estranged husband’s phone and reporting it to police.

In addition to planting the pornographic materials on his phone, Cherie Bolton, 34, reported to police that he raped they, 13-year-old daughter. The false allegations led to her arrest in January 2018. Both her husband and the 13-year-old girl denied the sexual molestation accusations. When the police contacted her husband he explained that he had made her leave their home prior to the report being made.

Court records indicate that Bolton eventually admitted to downloading child pornography on his phone while she was under the influence of methamphetamine. Previously facing up to 10 years in prison for child pornography, she accepted a plea deal. On Monday, July 1, 2019, the judge sentenced her to six years of probation and will be required to register as a sex offender.
