The Kern County Sheriff’s Office responded to three calls of service for people missing in the water.
The first incident was reported at 4:36 p.m. on July 4, 2019, in the area of Rabbit Island at Lake Isabella. The woman was located by Air5 and CPR was performed on the woman who was later determined to be deceased.
At 4:56 p.m. Search and Rescue responded to the report of three people in the water near Granite Point. One of the parties was able to get out of the water without assistance, one was hoisted to safety by the Kern County Fire officials, and the third remains missing.
At 5:11 p.m., Kern County Sheriff’s and Park Rangers responded to the Kern River near Lake Ming for the report of a missing 20-year-old man. The man is still missing and the search for both missing people continues.
