UPDATE: (10-18-16 12:30 pm) All three drowning victims located and recovered.
Three boaters remain missing Monday morning after a boat carrying five male occupants overturned on June Lake in Mono County on Saturday morning.
Mono County Sheriff’s officials said that two of the men were able to swim to shore and were medically treated and released, while the others three men have not been located. The Mono County Sheriff’s Dive team responded, searching all day to no avail. The search was called off on Saturday night due to the loss of daylight.
The search resumed early Sunday morning where Sheriff officials called it a recovery effort, saying that there was no possibility of survival. They continued searching until the rain and high winds moved in causing a safety concern for the Dive Team. The Dive team returned on Monday morning and will continue the search as weather allows.
Those missing have not yet been identified by Sheriff officials but are believed to all be from Tehachapi.
