Burger King is responding to COVID-19 (the Coronavirus) by assisting families with free meals for their children.
As a result of many children now being home as a result of school closures, parents may have a more difficult time feeding their children. Some of these parents are having these issues because of finances, while others are having a difficult time because of scarcity of many food items at local stores.
Schools have attempted to fill the need by offering free breakfast and lunch for the week leading up to spring break. Most of these lunches are being done by driving through and grabbing meals to go. Burger King decided to assist by offering free kid’s meals, one per purchased adult meal. In order to receive the free kid’s meals, orders must be placed through the Burger King mobile app.
In addition, most restaurants have closed their dining areas but have continued to take orders through the drive thru. In addition Burger King along with many other restaurants are serving customers through delivery services like DoorDash or Postmates.
