NEWBERRY SPRINGS – A 22-year-old Monterey Park man lost his life in a single-vehicle traffic collision in the Newberry Springs area on Saturday. Rudy Madrid was driving a 2003 Honda Civic northbound on the I-15, south of Minneola when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the center median.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene to find Madrid deceased at scene. The California Highway Patrol Barstow is investigating the cause of the collision.
