Through investigation, detectives learned that at around 3:15 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016, the teen was downstairs in their home when the suspect came in through a door at the rear of their home. The suspect stabbed the victim and she ran upstairs screaming. She staggered into her mother’s bedroom and collapsed, dying at the scene.
Detectives were unable to determine if the suspect was allowed into the home or if he forced his way in and the motive of the attack at this time is unknown. “Based on the victim’s statements to her mother prior to her collapse, the victim’s ex-boyfriend is being sought to determine if he was involved in the attack,” LA County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
The victim and the ex-boyfriend, identified as Rory Murga had dated for around a year and had broke up 2 weeks before this stabbing.
