CRAWFORDVILLE, FL. – A husband and wife were arrested for the sexual and physical abuse of their adopted twin daughters, authorities said.

Mirko Ceska, 58, and Regina Ceska,55, were arrested earlier this month for multiple felony charges including various physical and sexual abuse charges. A search as done of their home, located at 251 Raker Lane in Crawfordville, Florida. On July, 1, 2019, the girls told deputies at the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Officer that they had escaped from the home days earlier, on June 28th. They reported that they were physically and sexually abused by the couple, who they described as doomsday preppers.

The women described that the couple had properties with food rations and weapons stored throughout the country in the event of a major domestic incident. The women, who are 22-year-old twins, were taught to raise pigs, raise sheep, grow various fruits and vegetables, shear sheep, use a loom, and sew. They reported that they were used as farm labor and were required to begin at 5:30 a.m. each day. “The females reported they were not allowed to go anywhere, couldn’t have friends, couldn’t have cell phones, nor talk to people in public places,” Wakulla County Sheriff’s officials said. “They stated they were not allowed to agree, talk or shake hands with anyone in public; rather, they were instructed to always look happy.” If they did not smile while in public, they would be punished.

Punishments included verbal abuse, food restriction, and beatings. The women had bruises and marks on their backs and arms from a recent beating by Mirko Ceska using a metal rod. The victms said that they were forced to have sex with Mirko Ceska, with the support of Regina Ceska.

During a search of the property, large quantities of food rations and survivalist items were found. Dozens of high-quality firearms were seized and ammunition; some hidden behind false walls and staircases. “A homemade video was seized which depicted an event wherein Mirko had his face very close to both females’ faces and was screaming that they had stolen food,” officials said. “Detectives also executed a search warrant upon a cell phone belonging to Mirko Ceska. A file containing an internet search history for an incestuous video was located.”

On July 12, 2019, CID Detectives arrested Mirko Ceska and charged him with Sexual Battery, Sexual Assault, Abuse, and Neglect. Regina Ceska was arrested and charged with two Counts of Neglect and two Counts of Failure to report abuse. Both were booked into the Wakulla County Jail. The investigation is ongoing
