COWETA COUNTY, GA. – A 42-year-old health worker with no preexisting health conditions was found deceased in her home with her young child last week.

The Georgia woman who worked at Piedmont Newnan Hospital as a mammogram technician was displaying flu-like symptoms. The symptoms  persisted for approximately one week prior to her death. After not being able to get a hold of her, the woman was reported missing.

When police went to her home she was found inside alone with her still-living approximately 4 to 5-year-old child. It is unknown how long the two were in the home alone but authorities believe it was for 12-16 hours.

A test performed by the Coweta County Coroner, determined that her cause of death was the COVID-19. The condition of the child has not been disclosed at this time, no additional information is available at this time.
