ALHAMBRA, Calif. – Authorities are attempting to identify and locate the suspect involved in a shooting that left an off-duty LA County Sheriff’s deputy.
Homicide Investigators responded to the 2500 block of W. Valley Boulevard in the City of Alhambra to assist Alhambra Police with an investigation into the shooting of the deputy. The shooting occurred on Monday, June 10, 2019, at around 5:45 p.m. at a Jack in the Box restaurant.
The off-duty deputy was standing at the restaurant counter, while several other customers were at the restaurant. The armed suspect approached him. The white male adult, in his 20’s to 30’s shot him once in the head then fled the location.
The suspect was described as 5’09” to 5’11”, and was wearing a burgundy short-sleeved button down shirt, slim blue jeans, a light fedora hat, and sunglasses, and was armed with a handgun. The suspect left the location in a 2010-2014, 4-door Kia Sorento with paper plates. Investigators believe the suspect changed his clothing to a black t-shirt and jeans following the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and there is no additional information available at this time.
