Kelloggs Recalls Several Keebler, Mother’s, Special K, Famous Amos and Murray Snacks

Several Mother’s, Keebler, Special K, Murray and Famous Amos branded snacks and cookies are being recalled. Parent company Kellogg Company announced the voluntary recall Monday evening. The recall was initiated after their supplier, Grain Craft recalled their wheat flour due to the potential of it containing low levels of peanut residue.

Kellogg officials said that although no related illness has been reported to date, this action is being taken out of an “abundance of caution”. This recall only applies to certain varieties and dates of production. “While consumers with severe peanut allergies should avoid the recalled products, the FDA has stated that the amount of peanut exposure from the flour is low and not expected to cause adverse health effects in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers,” Kellogg Company officials stated in a press release.
