Man Sentenced to Nearly 40 Years for Extorting Nude Photos From Minors

LOS ANGELES – A 20-year-old Rosemead man was sentenced to 39 years and 8 months in prison for extorting minor victims for nude photos on Friday officials said.

Cesar Mauricio Estrada-Davila, aka Cesar Estrada according to Los Angeles District Attorney’s officials made friends with 21 female victims between the age of 12-17-years-old and told them he was a modeling agent. He befriended the juveniles on social media between January and April 2015. The girls, believing that Estrada would make them famous online sent him photos of themselves in underwear at his request.

Estrada received the images and he then threatened to send their photos to friends and family if they did not send him nude photos prosecutors said. The female juveniles resided in California, Utah, Texas, Michigan, Washington, Colorado, Nevada and Florida.

In court on February 15th Estrada-Davila pleaded no contest to 38 felony counts: one count of lewd act upon a child; 21 counts of distributing or showing child or youth pornography to a minor and 16 counts of possession of child or youth pornography. Estrada, in addition to his prison term will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
