KNOX COUNTY, TN – A Tennessee mother who said she simply needed “me time” was arrested for the death of her 11 month old son.
Lindsee Leonardo, 32, of Knox County, was arrested and has been charged with the first-degree murder of her child who she left unattended in the bathtub. According to Sheriff’s officials, on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, she had Aiden Leonardo and her 23-month-old daughter in the bathtub in shallow water while she went outside to have a cigarette. She listened to a couple of songs as she smoked then went back inside to tend to her two toddlers.
Leonardo said that she believes her toddler daughter started the water back up because when she returned, the baby girl was standing in the water as Aiden floated in the water. Emergency medical personnel said that Aiden did not have a heartbeat when they arrived. Aiden was taken to the hospital but despite lifesaving measures taken, he died as a result of the incident. His mother, Lindsee Leonardo was arrested the following day.
