LUCERNE VALLEY – A Utah man lost his life after a single-vehicle motorcycle collision on Friday afternoon.
At around 4:13 p.m. David R. Free, 79, of Sandy, Utah was riding his three-wheeled motorcycle and was traveling northbound on Highway 18 in Lucerne Valley. While riding the curvy area approximately two miles south of Camp Rock his motorcycle left the roadway.
Other riders with him called for emergency medical aid, which arrived at the scene to transport Free to St. Mary’s Medical Center in the Town of Apple Valley. Free was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries just before 5:30 p.m. The collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
