Woman Found Dead in Lucerne Valley, Her Boyfriend and His Mother Arrested

APPLE VALLEY, Ca. – A 24-year-old Apple Valley woman was found deceased in the desert in Lucerne Valley and her boyfriend and his mother were arrested.

On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at around 9:40 a.m. dispatchers received a call reporting a deceased person in a shallow grave near Japatul and Power Line Roads in Lucerne Valley. When they arrived they found the grave and victim. The San Bernardino Specialized Investigations Division was called to the scene. They responded to the scene, along with Homicide Detectives and the Coroner Investigator.

The following day, Jacqueline Amor Hernandez was identified as the victim. It was learned that Hernandez lived with her boyfriend, 22-year-old Gabriel Leon and his mother, 52-year-old Patricia Gonzalez,  in the 18900 block of Shetland Road in the Town of Apple Valley. Both Leon and Gonzalez were detained and interviewed leading to their arrest, Leon for murder and Gonzales for accessory after the fact. Both suspects remain in custody and are scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Wednesday, October 14th.
