A Newhall man was sentenced to 48 years in prison for sexually molesting 10 children on Wednesday, officials said.
Francisco Avendaño 42, and his girlfriend, Jacqueline Wadsworth, 32 were accused of molesting children between the ages of 3 to 15-years-old between 2001 and 2015.
The children who were molested included family members and the children of friends.
Both pleaded no contest on July 6th, Avendaño to 12 counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14, two counts of lewd acts on a child 14 years old and one count each of lewd acts upon a child 15 years old and continuous sexual abuse and Wadsworth to a single count of lewd acts upon a child under 13.
Wadsworth avoided prison time being sentenced on August 5th to 5 years of formal probation and a 52-week sexual compulsion control class. She is also subject to a 10-year protective order.
Both Avendaño and Wadsworth will be required to register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives.
