NORTH HOLLYWOOD – A 29-year-old North Hollywood man faces more than 4 years in prison for animal cruelty for stabbing his neighbors 8-year-old Pomeranian. On October 14, 2017, Elmer Realegeno was allegedly involved in an altercation with his neighbor which led to criminal threats. During the altercation at the North Hollywood apartment building, the dog belonging to another neighbor walking in his direction.
The dog underwent surgery and survived its injuries. On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office filed charges including of felony count of cruelty and one of criminal threats. In addition, he also must respond to the allegation that a knife was used to commit this crime.
Realegeno pleaded not guilty to the charges and will return to the Van Nuys Superior Court on November 1st.
