Approximately 350,000 bar chairs sold at Lowe’s stores nationwide and online at lowes.com from November 2008 to August 2016 have been recalled due to fall hazard.
Consumers should immediately discontinued use of the recalled chairs made by 3i Corporation. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said that the legs can become detached from the center post at the weld, posing a fire hazard. The sets were sold for approximately $700 a set. This recall involves allen + roth brand Safford model and Garden Treasures brand Lakeview model bar chairs sold in sets of four. The chairs have a brown, aluminum frame and a beige sling fabric cover. The 4-foot-tall chairs swivel 360 degrees and have arm rests on each side of the chair.
To date, 457 reports of the base of the barstools breaking have been made, this resulted in ten reported injuries including head injuries, broken ribs, bruising, and scrapes. The owners of these chairs should order a free replacement base and a repair kit by calling 3i Corporation toll-free at between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online at www.lakeview-safford.com.
