NEW CUMBERLAND, PA – A 55-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested last month for assaulting a store clerk for bagging canned goods with his potato chips authorities said.
The incident occurred on February 2, 2019, Bradley A. Bower and his wife, both of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, went to the Giant Food Store located at 130 Old York Road in New Cumberland. Bower told officers that he had bought several bags of chips that he did not want to get all smashed up. He asked the clerk not to throw his groceries around, according to the criminal complaint.
Bower said that the clerk continued bagging the chips with the cans and chips together. He paid for his groceries and as he walked away he had words with the clerk who responded jokingly. Bower was angered by the clerks tone and grabbed his neck and shoved him into the cash register. The store manager called police as the clerk escaped his grip. He was arrested on Thursday, March 21, 2019, for Simple Assault
