POMONA – Two carjacking victims and three carjackers were arrested late Friday night officials said. At around 11:47 p.m. a 2017 gray Chevy Silverado with an 18’ cargo trailer loaded with around 1200 pounds of Marijuana was stolen by three armed suspects. The suspects approached and made off with the truck and trailer near Mission Boulevard and Sorrento Road.
The incident was reported to the Pomona Police and the stolen truck and trailer were quickly located near 700 Washington Avenue. A police helicopter flying overhead spotted the suspects as they were unloading the trailer, throwing large bags into the backyard of the home. When officers arrived they detained the suspects and learned the bags and trailer contained marijuana. A search warrant was obtained and executed leading to the discovery of a marijuana grow with nearly 240 plants.
The three suspects, Tyler Holthouser and Xavier Blackmon were charged with carjacking and Possession of marijuana for sales. James Holthouser was charged with Conspiracy to commit Carjacking, Cultivation, and Possession of Marijuana for sales. The two carjacking victims, Timothy Frerichs, 39, and Dennis Young, 40, both of Redding were arrested for possession of Marijuana for Sale.
“Although the investigation is still ongoing, it appears this was possibly a prearranged meeting between both parties and a drug deal gone wrong,” Pomona Police officials said.
