RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A newly appointed Citizen Patrol Volunteer with the City of Rancho Cucamonga was arrested after impersonating a Peace Officer officials said.
Raul Garcia, 18, of Rancho Cucamonga, was arrested on July 5, 2017, after reports of a man in a white Ford Crown Victoria using a Public Address (PA) System to impersonate a police officer at around 11:12 p.m. The deputy located a vehicle with the description provided and made contact with Garcia in the area of Vintage Drive and Terrace View Loop. The deputy learned that Garcia’s personally owned vehicle had a siren and PA system installed. Garcia used these in order to make people believe that he was a peace officer.
Garcia was arrested for impersonating a peace officer and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center. He is no longer a volunteer with the department and authorities said that all of his equipment used was his own equipment and did not belong to the department.
Anyone with information regarding this incident, or believe to have had contact with Garcia, is urged to notify the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department at (909) 477-2800.
