ORANGE COUNTY, Fl. – A Florida man was arrested after posting a video that showed him grabbing a cat by its tail before throwing it above his head and flinging it across a parking lot.
The video, which was posted to Snapchat showed the male subject with the black stray cat. Once the cat was tossed into the air, it flew across several spaces but did not show the outcome. On December 16, 2019, deputies in Orange County, Florida received the emailed video, which led to the animal cruelty investigation. The investigation led authorities to the home of Kelvin Colon, 19, an Edgewater High School student. The home was confirmed to be the same apartment complex in the video, but the black cat was nowhere in the area/
Colon told authorities that he did not think that the cat was hurt as a result of his video, which was made in September 2019. He told detectives that he just did not post the video until months later, in December. Colon was arrested on Tuesday, January 2, 2019 for Cruelty to Animals, a felony.
