Texas Mother Sentenced to 40 Years for Attempting to Sell Her Toddler for Sex

CONROE, TX. – A 25-year-old Houston, Texas mother was sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty of attempting to sell her 2-year-old daughter for sex. Sarah Peters pleaded guilty on Thursday, July 12, 2018, to three felony counts including; Attempted Human Trafficking, Promotion of Prostitution of a Child, and Sexual Performance of a Child.

On February 22, 2018, Peters was arrested as a result of an investigation into the exploitation of children. Authorities said that Peters attempted to sell her toddler daughter to an undercover officer for sex. According to court records, Peters chatted with the undercover officer online and asked if he knew any guys that would pay to have “fun” with her toddler daughter. She also sent the officer nude photos of the child.

Peters traveled on a Greyhound bus to meet with the officer at the agreed-upon meeting place in Conroe, Texas, believing that he would have sex with the small girl for the payment of $1,200. Peters was located with the child at a bus station in Montgomery County and was subsequently arrested.
