TEMECULA – A Wildomar man and area transient were arrested on Thursday for suspect drug dealing after they were stopped by Temecula police on Thursday. The black Nissan Altima ran the stop sign, causing police to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Moreno Road and Old Town Front Street.
Officers immediately recognized the front passenger, 26-year-old Sergio Maya who had a warrant for his arrest for a violation of his Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS). Maya was taken into custody. The driver of the vehicle, 36-year-old Johnny Alcantar was also found to be on probation for a vehicle theft. Alcantar was removed from the vehicle so that the officer could perform a vehicle check.
During the check, the officer found a backpack, which was in Maya’s possession. The backpack contained PCP, methamphetamine, and other items indicative of drugs sales. Alcantar was found to be in possession of heroin. Both Maya and Alcantar were booked into the Southwest Detention Center.
