GLENDORA, Ca. – Two were arrested after an armed takeover robbery at a jewelry store in Glendora.
On Friday, September 6, 2019, at around 12:15 p.m., Glendora Police responded to a call reporting the robbery in the 700 block of West Route 66. When officers arrived they found a female sitting inside a vehicle. The female was arrested and officers began searching for two male suspects who were described as being armed with handguns.
One of the suspects was located near Route 66 and Forestdale Ave. and an officer-involved shooting occurred. The suspect was transported to the hospital. No officers were injured as a result of the shooting. The second suspect has not been identified or arrested. The outstanding suspect is described as a thin, black male, with short dreadlocks and the sides of his head shaved. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or a white shirt and blue jeans. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Stanton Elementary School at 725 S. Vecino Ave. and Foothill Christian School at 242 W. Baseline have been placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution and a plan is in place to have students transported to a safe area where parents can pick them up.
Per our protocol the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office have been notified, are responding, and will be investigating the officer-involved shooting. If you have any information related to this incident please call 626-914-8250.
