INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Two officers were injured and the suspect involved in an officer-involved shooting is dead.
On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at around 3:30 p.m. police responded to the report of a suspicious person who was armed with a sword at the Church of Scientology located at 315 S. Market Street in Inglewood. When the officers arrived at the scene, they entered the church and made contact with the suspect. An officer-involved shooting occurred and the suspect was struck. The suspect was treated at the scene and subsequently transported to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
The two officers suffered from non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital. A criminal and administrative investigation will both take place. The District Attorneys Officer Involved Shooting roll-out team responded to the scene and they are conducting a parallel investigation. The name of the suspect is not being released s
