CORONA – The Riverside and Corona Police located a stolen vehicle and arrested the two teen occupants on Thursday morning. Just after 10:00 a.m. the Riverside Police Air-1 received a LoJack hit for a stolen Honda Civic and alerted the Corona Police to the pursuit of a stolen vehicle in the area of Hidden Valley and the I-15.
Corona ground units arrived and took over the pursuit as the vehicle stolen out of Buena Park just hours earlier exited the 91 Freeway at Main Street. The vehicle stopped on Lilac Street near Via Santiago and the driver, a 17-year-old Santa Ana resident and the passenger, a 19-year-old Orange resident were both taken into custody. The 19-year-old was found to have an outstanding no-bail warrant for his arrest. A large amount of stolen property was found inside the vehicle and believed to have been taken during numerous Orange County vehicle burglaries.
The adult suspect was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in downtown Riverside for the felony warrant and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The minor was taken to Riverside County Juvenile Hall where he was booked for Evading an Officer, Auto Theft, Receiving/Possession of Stolen Property, and Forgery.
