WEST COVINA – Three suspects were arrested for the burglary of a West Covina home on Thursday night. On January 5, 2017, the West Covina Police responded to a home in the 400 block of North Ellen Drive in the City of West Covina. The victim told authorities that he was inside his home when the suspects were in the process of breaking into his home.
Startled by the resident, the four suspects fled the location. The victim was able to provide the license plate of the fleeing suspect vehicle. West Covina police, on their way to the scene saw the suspect vehicle on the westbound 10 freeway. The police stopped the vehicle and the four suspects were taken into custody without incident. Authorities said that during the investigation they located evidence which possibly linking the suspect to additional burglaries.
No one was injured as a result of the incident. Suspect Shawn Keith Castilow, 26, of Compton, Semaj Amantae James, 19, of Los Angeles, and Michael Ormahn Davis, 19, of Riverside were all booked for burglary. James and Davis are being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. Castilow was also booked for a parole violation and is being held without bail. A 16-year-old male from Los Angeles was detained.
All suspects are scheduled to appear at the West Covina Superior Court on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.
