TEMECULA, Calif. – A Moreno Valley man was arrested for the kidnapping and assault of a woman who thought he was her ride service ride.
On Sunday, July 14, 2019, at around 8:30 p.m., deputies from the Temecula Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Temecula and Redhawk Parkways for the report of a kidnapping and sexual assault. The victim said that she was waiting for a ridesharing service at a gas station in Pala when a vehicle arrived and the male driver stated that he was her ride. She got into the vehicle and then realized that the driver she was with was not the ridesharing driver that she was waiting for. She asked to be let out of the vehicle. The driver refused to let her out of the vehicle and sexually assaulted her.
The woman was able to exit the vehicle on Temecula Parkway where she called 911. The suspect was identified as Moreno Valley resident Luis Fernando Alba. Alba was arrested on Monday, July 15, 2019, in Moreno Valley for an alleged carjacking of the vehicle he used to kidnap and sexually assault the victim. The carjacking was reported on Saturday, July 13, 2019, in the city of Moreno Valley.
