ADELANTO – Five teens were arrested for stealing fireworks from a firework stand on Palmdale Road and Bellflower Street in the City of Adelanto. The day before the 4th of July just after 2:30 a.m. dispatchers received the report of an armed robbery. Adelanto station deputies responded to the scene where they learned that 5 armed young men or juveniles stole fireworks.
The suspects, who stole around $1500 worth of fireworks fled the scene before deputies arrived. A portion of the proceeds from the firework sales was part of an Adelanto Little League Baseball Fundraiser.
Detectives worked on investigating the incident and through investigation were able to obtain several search warrants for different locations and locate evidence to identify the five involved.
Just over a week later, on July 12th 18-year-old Hesperia resident, Nathaniel Aguirre and a 16-year-old male were arrested in Hesperia. Aguirre was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for armed robbery, home invasion robbery and possession of stolen property. He is being held in lieu of $250,000 and is due to appear at the Victorville Superior Court the Monday morning.
The juvenile went to Juvenile Hall for the same charges.
On July 21st a 14-year-old Hesperia boy was arrested in the City of Hesperia and was booked into Juvenile Hall for his involvement in the robbery, officials said. Four days later 18-year-old Hesperia resident, Aaron Mason was arrested in the unincorporated area of Hesperia and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for armed robbery and is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail. Mason is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior court on the morning of Thursday, August 4th.
Only 2 days later on July 27th 18-year-old Barstow resident Elijah Acevedo Etherton was arrested in the City of Barstow and was booked into the Barstow Jail for armed robbery and is being held in lieu of $675,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment hearing at the Victorville Superior Court Friday afternoon.
