PALM DESERT, Ca.– Two Adelanto men were arrested on Wednesday after an investigation into a Palm Desert shooting, authorities said.
The car-to-car shooting took place in the parking lot of a busy Palm Desert shopping mall located in the 72-800 block of Highway 111 on February 2, 2023, shortly before 2:00 p.m. The non-injury shooting was later determined to be gang-related. The shooter(s) according to sheriff’s officials shot over 40 rounds. Initially following the shooting, two male subjects were detained but later released.
Through investigation, Allen Curcio Adams Jr, 19, and Alexander Brice Alvarado, 20, were identified as suspects leading to a search warrant at a home in the 11100 block of Hyattsville Street in the City of Adelanto. Following the investigation, Adams and Alvarado were arrested and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, and face charges of attempted murder, shooting at a vehicle, and being felons and narcotic addicts in possession of a firearm. The two are being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Both suspects appeared at the Larson Justice Center in Indio on Friday and pleaded not guilty to all charges. This investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to call Investigator William Hickok at the Palm Desert Station by calling 760–836–1600.
