ADELANTO – An Adelanto man and Las Vegas woman were arrested for an assault in the Adelanto Dollar General parking lot.
The incident that occurred at 11746 Air Expressway Road was reported at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Authorities said that the victims were sitting in the car in the parking lot when they were approached by the suspect, later identified as 23-year-old Tony Angelo Martinez. The suspect was wearing a bandana over his mouth and hit one of the victims in the head with a metal flashlight causing a 3” laceration.
The victim got out of the vehicle in an attempt to defend himself, but the suspect pointed a gun at the victim then fled the scene in a silver truck driven by a female, later identified as 31-year-old Crystal Angela Strosnider. Deputies arrived and began doing an area check for the suspect vehicle. A truck matching the description was located near Air Expressway and Sevens Street in Adelanto. The truck was learned to have been stolen out of Nevada on May 15, 2017. Martinez was learned to be a convicted felon, who matched the suspect description. A gun was located in the truck’s glove compartment. Both Martinez and Strosnider were arrested and are being held at the West Valley Detention Center.
