Adelanto Man Arrested for Killing Two Men and Injuring a Third Over a Dominoes Game

ADELANTO – A 57-year-old Adelanto man who shot and killed two men and injured another man during an argument over a dominoes game in Las Vegas, Nevada was arrested last week.

On Sunday, June 25, 2017, just before 7:20 p.m. Las Vegas Metro Police Department officers responded to the 4400 block of Wendy Lane for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they located a man in the front of the home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The injured man told authorities that there were two of his friends inside who had also been shot. Emergency medical personnel went into the home and pronounced both men dead at the scene. The injured man was taken to UMC Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities learned that several adult males were inside the home playing dominoes, when the suspect, later identified as Frederick Martin became upset, left the home momentarily, and returned with a handgun. He shot the three men and fled on foot before police officers arrived. All suspects were believed to know each other. The investigation led to the identity of suspect Martin and to an arrest warrant for the murder of Demond Billingsley, 37, and Calvin Lashawn Clark, 20 and the Battery with a Deadly.

On Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at 8:26 a.m. Martin was taken into custody at the Candlewick Apartments, located at 11200 Chamberlaine Way in the City of Adelanto. Martin was transported to the West Valley Detention Center where he is awaiting extradition back to Las Vegas Nevada.
