VICTORVILLE – An Apple Valley and an Adelanto man were arrested for mail theft on Tuesday authorities said.
Sheriff’s officials said that at around 3:23 a.m. a deputy from the Victorville Station was on patrol when he noticed a vehicle near the UPS and FedEx drop boxes on Civic Drive near Park Avenue in the City of Victorville. The deputy went over to the area where the man was seen walking away from and noticed that the door on the UPS box was left open. He stopped the vehicle and located several packages and mail belonging to people other than the occupants in the vehicle. The deputy also located a crowbar and other items consistent with the mail theft.
Dontavious Hodge, 26, of Adelanto and Mathew DiFalco, 18, of Apple Valley were booked into the High Desert Detention Center for conspiracy to commit a crime and mail theft.
