POMONA, Calif. – One man is injured, a woman is dead and an arrest has been made after a stabbing in the City of Pomona on Saturday afternoon.
Officers arrived in the 1300 block of East Mission Boulevard after receiving a call reporting that a man and woman had been stabbed. The suspect fled on foot before authorities arrived. The victims were rushed to the hospital, the female, described as being around 49-years-old lost her life as a result of her injuries. The 29-year-old male is being treated for his injuries and is expected to survive.
Detectives investigated and located surveillance footage showing the suspect before the attack. As a Crime Scene Investigator who viewed the surveillance, was driving back to the Pomona station and he saw a male subject who matched the description of the suspect. Officers arrived and made contact with Jose Mancinas, 21, of Pomona and took him into custody. Items were found on the suspect that linked him to the attack.
Mancinas was transported to the Pomona Police Station where he was booked for Murder and Attempted Murder. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Pomona Police Department at 909-620-2085.
