BARSTOW, Ca. – Authorities are asking for help to identify a male subject who attempted to lure a child to his vehicle as she waited for the school bus in front of her home last week.
On Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at around 7:00 a.m. the victim stood in front of her home in the 3600 block of Yermo Road in Barstow waiting for the school bus to arrive. As she waited, a Hispanic man, believed to be in his 50’s drove up in a silver Mitsubishi Endeavor. He called her over to his vehicle telling her that he wanted to talk to her. The frightened girl backed away from the man and moved closer to her home. The man followed her onto her property, still attempting to get her to walk over to him. Her father came out of the home to confront the man, causing him to leave the location.
Anyone with information regarding this vehicle or driver is urged to contact Deputy Moore or Detective B. Grimm at the Barstow Sheriff’s Station (760)256-4838. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may contact We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME or www.wetip.com.
