BARSTOW, Ca. – A 22-year-old man and 23-year-old woman were arrested following a theft at the Outlets at Barstow and a Circle K store on Sunday evening.
At around 7:14 p.m. Barstow police responded to the Reebok Store at the Outlets at Barstow regarding a theft. The employees described the suspects as a white female adult and white male adult. Witnesses said that the two stole several clothing items from the store before leaving in gray Honda Civic with tinted windows. Officers searched the area for the suspects but were not able to locate them.
At around 9:48 p.m., Barstow police responded to the 300 block of Montara Road in response to a stolen vehicle. When they arrived they found a stolen gray Honda Civic parked at the Jack’s Liquor Store located in the 2000 block of East Main Street. The passenger Freddie Hernandez exited the vehicle and went inside the store, leaving the driver, Victoria Coffman in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The officer made contact with Hernandez and Coffman who he believed matched the description of the two involved in the Reebok Store theft earlier that day.
While in contact with the subjects, at 9:49 p.m. Barstow Police received a call from the Circle K located in the 500 block of Rimrock Road to report stolen lottery tickets. The description matched the description of Hernandez and Coffman. Officers made contact with the clerk at Jack’s Liquor and learned that Hernandez was in the store redeeming some of the stolen lottery tickets. During a search of the vehicle, items stolen from the Reebok Store and some of the stolen lottery tickets were located. The stolen items were returned to the stores.
Hernandez was arrested for petty theft, conspiracy to commit theft, and several outstanding warrants. Coffman was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, petty theft, and conspiracy to commit theft.
