RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A West Valley Detention Center inmate was accidentally released on Wednesday night and authorities need help locating him.
On August 30, 2017, at around 9:30 p.m., Robert Soto, a 58-year-old transient was released from the jail located at 9500 Etiwanda Avenue in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Soto was booked into jail on August 10, 2017, for a misdemeanor battery warrant and was classified as a mental health inmate. The accidental release was done due to employees misidentifying Soto as another inmate scheduled for release that day.
The following morning the search for Soto began, and to date, he has not been located. He is believed to be a transient and was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, and black shoes. There is a warrant for the arrest of Soto’s rearrest.
Anyone who sees Soto, or has information on his whereabouts, is urged to immediately call 911.
