DESERT HOT SPRINGS – A man and woman were arrested for molesting a child while recording it for distribution authorities said.
Detectives from the Desert Hot Springs Police received the information about the video on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. The video provided evidence that the child pornography was being manufactured and distributed. With the assistance of Homeland Security, detectives conducted the investigation.
The investigation led to Michael Flaherty, of Desert Hot Springs being arrested on August 16th in Palm Springs for the molestation of the child, as well as manufacturing and distributing child pornography. The investigation later revealed that Cynthia Fuentes, of Coachella, was also involved in the molestation of the child and manufacturing and distribution of the child porn. Fuentes was arrested on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, following a search warrant in Coachella.
Flaherty is currently in custody in Riverside County Jail in lieu of $1,500,000.00 bail and Fuentes is currently in custody in Riverside County Jail in lieu of $2,500,000.00 bail.
