KRAMER JUNCTION – A tractor-trailer slammed into the back of two vehicles Friday evening leaving a man and woman dead authorities said.
At around 2:15 p.m. the three vehicles were driving eastbound on State Route 58, when around two miles west of Kramer Junction traffic slowed but the tractor-trailer failed to stop. The vehicle collided with the 2010 silver Toyota Camry and white Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck.
Two passengers seated in the backseat of the Camry, Mathew Thomas Woodall, 33, and Nicolett Elaine Conley, 31, both of Bakersfield were pronounced dead at the scene. The couple planned to be married later this month.
The collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
