VICTORVILLE, Calif. – A Baldy Mesa man and woman were arrested for an attempted robbery that occurred Wednesday evening.
At around 7:36 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station responded to the Vallarta Supermarket located in the 12300 block of Mariposa Road in the City of Victorville for the report of a robbery. When they arrived they learned that the male and female suspects entered the store. While in the store, they put multiple items inside of a shopping cart.
After choosing their items, rather than getting in a checkout line, the two began walking out of the store without paying. The 37-year-old male security guard asked the male for his receipt. The male suspect ignored him and continued into the parking lot. He again asked for the receipt, and the male produced a taser and tased him. Both suspects got into a vehicle and left the scene. The unpaid items were left inside the cart in the parking lot.
The investigation led to the suspects being identified as William Lawrence Peairs, 27, and Lisa Joan Osborne (Cloyd), 35.
Peairs was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. Since 2010, Peairs has been convicted of numerous crimes including battery, assault with a deadly weapon (not gun), attempt to receive stolen property, taking of vehicle without owner’s consent, attempted auto theft, as well as numerous violations of Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS).
Osborne was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for conspiracy to commit a crime. Both suspects are scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on June 28, 2019. The victim did not require medical attention.
