VICTORVILLE, CA-The Victorville Police Department’s Corporal D. Maddox was on patrol in Victorville on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at approximately 2:52 a.m. when he heard a loud explosion near Ventura Lane and Oceanside Drive. Within one minute, Maddox responded and arrived. It was discovered by Maddox that a house had exploded in the 14000 block of Adalane Court.
Sheriff’s Dispatch received multiple calls reporting a loud explosion and a house on fire on Adalane Court, near Llanada Avenue, as Maddox responded. Deputies from the Victorville Police Department and firefighters from the Victorville Fire Department were requested to assist.
After arriving at the scene, deputies discovered the residence completely engulfed in flames. As the cause of the explosion was unknown, Maddox evacuated the nearby residents.
A female who was alone in her house when it exploded, was able to escape. Maddox located the female burn victim and coordinated emergency medical care. Initially, the victim was transported to a local hospital and then flown to a trauma center. Despite being in critical condition, the victim was stable.
There is an ongoing investigation between the Victorville Police Department, the Victorville Fire Department, and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Bomb and Arson Division.
