Barstow CHP is Seeking Senior Volunteers

BARSTOW – If you are 50-years-old or better, the Barstow CHP is looking for you to be part of their Senior Volunteer Program. Senior Volunteers provide assistance to the CHP by helping them to keep the community safe. Duties would include administrative duties, teaching driver safety to seniors in the community, assisting with community events, participating in ridealongs with CHP officers, and many other great opportunities.

Those interested must pass a background investigation, have no felony convictions, be of good moral character, be available to volunteer during office hours, be willing to perform various duties as assigned and be able to work with minimal supervision.

If this sounds like something you would like to do, applications are being accepted now. Applications can be picked up at the Barstow CHP office located at 300 East Mt. View Street in the City of Barstow. In order to participate in the first training session, all applicants must turn in applications by December 30, 2016. If you have any questions you can contact Officer Adam Carmichall at (760)255-8700.
