BARSTOW – A 29-year-old Barstow man was arrested for stabbing another Barstow man at his home on Monday night.
At around 8:13 p.m. Barstow Police were dispatched to a home on the 600 block of East Buena Vista Street reference an assault. Upon arrival, they located the victim, Robert Marquez suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. Marquez identified the assailant as Derek Busick.
During the investigation, it was learned that Busick was located on Marquez’ property and was told to leave When he refused to leave and an altercation ensued. Busick stabbed Marquez several times and was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for the treatment of serious injuries.
During the investigation, Busick returned to the home and was arrested without incident. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on
“During Busick’s arrest evidence linking him to the assault was located on his person,” Barstow Police officials said.
